PRP is a platelet rich plasma that is found in your blood and contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. When PRP rejuvenation treatment, also known as a “vampire facelift”, is performed, a small amount of blood is taken from the patient’s arm and placed in a centrifuge. The centrifuge then spins the vile of blood at a high speed in order to separate the blood cells from the platelet plasma. Once the platelet rich plasma is extracted it will then be injected into the chosen area to be treated to help stimulate skin cell regeneration.

Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture, and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow after 3 to 6 weeks, and reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, and volume correction happens over the next 3 to 6 months. PRP injections are less invasive than plastic surgery and offer improvements that last from 12 to 18 months, depending on the individual.
In the beginning, a total of 5 to 6 treatments are needed to be done, spaced 1 week apart.
Better results are seen if the patient comes back every 6 to 8 months for 2 to 3 maintenance treatments. PRP injections can also be combined with dermal fillers, BOTOX® injections, and laser therapy.
